Chapter 724

Sarah spoke up. "Ma'am, may | ask you a few questions?"

The woman looked at her in disbelief, pointing at herself. "Me?"

"Your hotel killed Yvonne, and you still want to question me?" Her eyes darted around, avoiding Sarah's gaze.

Sarah persisted. "Miss, it's just a few questions. What are you afraid of?"

In front of the police, the woman couldn't keep refusing without arousing suspicion.

She reluctantly nodded. "But I'll only answer selectively."

Sarah said calmly, "May | ask your name?"

"What does my nhave to do with anything?" The woman frowned impatiently.

"Alright then. Ma'am, you said you spent a long tin Yvonne's room. | believe you and Yvonne entered the

room at 5:45 PM, and then room service delivered dinner at 5:50 PM. Did anyone use the bathroom between the

tyou returned to the hotel and now?"

The woman touched her neck, her eyes quickly scanning the room where police were now taking photos and

collecting evidence.

Only then did she answer, "No, neither of us used the bathroom."

Sarah asked again, "Can you guarantee that?"

"Absolutely! How could | forget something that happened just an hour ago?"

A police officer cout with a camera. "Captain, we've finished taking photos."

Sarah suddenly turned to the officer with the camera. "Could | look at one of the bathroom photos? It might help

solve the case."

The captain nodded, and the officer handed her the camera after finding the bathroom photos.

Sarah looked at the toilet. There was nothing there.

She turned back to the woman and said coldly, "You're lying!"

"I don't know what you're talking about. Everything | said is true. What gives you the right to calla liar?" The

woman was shocked, wondering what Sarah had seen in the photos.

Sarah didn't keep them in suspense. She turned to the captain with a serious expression, "Officer, our hotel staff

only clean rooms when guests are out. This room was cleaned at 5:30 PM, fifteen minutes before Yvonne and this

woman returned. The housekeeping staff always leaves a toilet bowl flower design with cleaner. If this woman is

certain no one used the bathroom, why is the flower design gone?"

The police captain glanced briefly at Sarah, then at the woman. "Everyone will need to cto the police station

to give full statements."

"We could also check the toilet-even take apart the drainpipe if necessary-to see exactly what was flushed

down." This approach would risk shutting down the entire hotel.

But that was far better than being responsible for someone's death.

Miles away at the Sanders Group building, Melvin had just finished an important meeting. Before he could even

get back to his office, he heard the notification sound of an incoming email.

He opened it to find an aufile sent by Sarah.

The contents of the recording made him bolt upright in his chair, his eyes wide. After listening to the recording,

his mood turned ice-cold. Someone had died at the Pine Mist Island resort hotel? This would be massive news!

If this story broke in East Coast, Pine Mist Island's stock price would certainly plummet.
