Chapter 418
Evelyn and Vance truly complemented each other well.
After ssmall talk, Vespera headed to the kitchen to brew a pot of Earl Grey tea. On the way, she gave
Dominic a call.
The moment Dominic heard Evelyna and Vance had cover, there was a short pause on the line. Then, he
replied that he would return as soon as he could.
Vespera ended the call and returned to the living area with the tea. Since Dominic wasn't hyet, she needed
to keep the guests company. So, she had no choice but to sit down and chat.
As expected, she mostly talked to Evelyn, and the conversation was mostly the latter's. She only nodded along,
acting as a listener.
Evelyn and Vespera talked about Dominic's high school days.
Evelyn said, "Vera, did you know? Back in high school, Dominic was crazy popular. Both girls and boys admired

we thought he was too shy to be open about his sexuality.
"So, during summer camp one year, | introduced him to a cute boy. After that, he ignoredfor half a month!
Even Vance was mad atand didn't talk tofor days."
Both girls and boys had crushes on Dominic? It wasn't surprising. But never dated anyone? What about Nancy?
And Evelyn tried to set him up with a cute boy? He wasn't even into that.
Evelyn mentioned that both Dominic and Vance were angry. Vespera could understand why Dominic was angry,
but why was Vance angry too? Vance had a fiancée, and she was literally a supermodel.
As if sensing Vespera's gaze, Vance turned and looked straight at her. Before she could say anything to break the
awkward tension, he suddenly said, "You don't love him at all."
Vespera was confused. "Huh?"
That cout of nowhere. It hit her so hard that she had no idea how to respond.
Evelyn said to Vance, barely reacting, "Can you not be tic? You're scaring her."
Vance replied, "She's too heartless."
Evelyn said, "Dominic likes her."
Vance complained, "You're all too heartless!"
"Honey, don't makeslap you," warned Evelyn.
Immediately, Vance went quiet.
Vespera stared at the couple in silence. She pressed her lips together and thought, "They don't look like a normal
couple."
Just then, the front door opened. Dominic had returned.
"Dom!" Vance called out, shooting up from the couch and dashing toward the entrance. He moved faster than a
fox in Londarion.
On the other hand, Evelyn didn't get up. She remained seated on the couch and only lifted a hand as a greeting.
Dominic removed his suit jacket, which was damp because of the rain, and handed it to Gerard. He greeted
Vance and Evelyn before his gaze paused on Vespera.
Standing next to Dominic, Vance leaned in to whisper something. Dominic glanced at him, then calmly said,
"Let's talk in the study."
"Alright," responded Vance before following Dominic upstairs happily.
Vespera was at a loss for words. Evelyn wasn't the unforgettable one. Clearly, it was Dominic.
Vespera's gaze drifted to Evelyn, still sipping tea. Then, she looked at Gerard, who was drying off the suit jacket.
Lastly, she glanced at Calvert, who was playing games after eating.
Was she the only one seeing this? Was she too sensitive, or were they too slow? Was it not obvious enough?
Vespera's expression twisted slightly.
"Vera, are you having a stomachache?" Evelyn asked, setting down her teacup with a look of concern. Vespera
answered, "No, I'm fine."
"Are you worried something might happen to Dominic tomorrow? Don't be. We're planning to go with him," said
Evelyn.
Vespera's heart instantly skipped a beat. What did Evelyn mean by something might happen tomorrow?
