Third Person’s POV
The courtyard was in an uproar as Paisley drove Avery away with her scolding.

Beata quickly prepared ice packs to reduce the swelling on Adelaide and Paisley’s checks and eye sockets.
The ice packs proved somewhat effective, and with the help of makeup, the redness on Paisley’s face was barely
noticeable. However, the area around Adelaide's eye gradually turned bruised and dark.
Beata attempted to cover it up, but Adelaide waved her off, saying, “No need.”
“But your eye looks like it can barely open,” Beata said worriedly. “You're going to meet Lycan Erasmus like this-
isn’t that disrespectful?”
Adelaide glanced in the mirror and decided it wasn’t a major issue.
During the meeting, she would mostly keep her head down and avoid direct eye contact with Lycan Erasmus.
Even if she occasionally looked up, the distance between them would likely obscure the bruising around her eye.
Adelaide then headed to the garage, where the driver had already prepared her vehicle.
She gently closed the car door and nodded at the driver in gratitude, “From today onward, our schedule will be
quite busy. Thank you in advance.”
The driver hurried forward and bowed, “Luna Adelaide, rest assured, the vehicle has been thoroughly inspected,
and the tires have just been replaced.”
Adelaide responded generously, “Pass on word to Ralph to give you an extra month’s bonus.”
“Thank you, Luna Adelaide! Wishing you continued success!” the driver beamed, though he internally wondered
about the bruise around Luna Adelaide's eye.
However, with the promise of a bonus, he saw no need to risk asking questions.
After Adelaide left in the car, Paisley, too, set out despite her swollen face.
She muttered to herself, “That troublemaker Avery-whenever he gets involved, nothing good ever happens!”

There was no royal meeting scheduled for the day, but Lycan Erasmus had risen early.
The recent treason case had left him restless.
Ever since ascending to the position of Lycan King, he had harbored suspicions of ambition among those around
him.
Previously, these were merely hunches, but now, with concrete evidence in hand, he realized his past concerns
were not unfounded.
Due to his restless night, Lycan Erasmus was in an especially foul mood upon waking.
Last night, he had stayed in Lycan Luna Camilla’s palace, and in his irritation, he had even chastised Camilla
without cause.
Early in the morning, officials waited outside his study for an audience.
After concluding his discussion with Cyrus, Lycan Erasmus heard that “Gamma Adelaide has arrived and awaits
you outside.”
He paused for a moment before comprehending the announcement.
With a slow exhale, he said, “Let her in.”
Adelaide adjusted her hat and strode into the room.
Tall and clad in her crisp uniform, she exuded an air of authority.
She bowed slightly and greeted him respectfully, “Lycan Erasmus, good morning.”
Lycan Erasmus spoke gently, “Rise, please.”
“Thank you,” Adelaide said as she straightened and stood with her hands at her sides.
Lycan Erasmus regarded her for a moment and then said, “Raise your head and letsee your demeanor.”
Adelaide hesitated briefly before slowly lifting her head.
The soft indoor lighting and the morning light streaming through the window cast a gentle glow on her face,
highlighting the bruised area around her eye.
Seeing this, Lycan Erasmus’s heavy mood lightened somewhat.
With a tease in his voice, he asked, “What happened? Did Lance dare to lay a hand on you?”

Lycan Erasmus couldn’t help but laugh, “Up so early because of nerves? Afraid you won't make a good

Adelaide admitted honestly, “I do feel a bit nervous, especially since I've never held such a high position before.

Looking at her bruised eye, Lycan Erasmus still felt a twinge of amusement but composed himself as he recalled
the serious matters he needed to discuss.
He said gravely, “The pressure you'll

Adelaide nodded in agreement, “I understand. I'll do my utmost not to disappoint everyone.”
Lycan Erasmus continued, “Most importantly, your father and brother were heroes of our kingdom. You must
carry on their legacy.”
The consecutive reminders of loyalty to the royal family and dedication to the nation stirred something within
Adelaide.
She responded solemnly, “I'll keep this in mind!”
Only then did Lycan Erasmus take a moment to seriously appraise her. There was no denying it-Adelaide,
dressed as the commander of the Ironthorn Army, looked every bit the part of a capable leader.
He had no doubt she could command the respect of the Ironthorn Army.
But commanding respect was only the first step. As commander, she would also bear the weight of decision-
making.
Erasmus hoped that beneath her martial prowess lay a mind equally adept at strategy and
wisdom.
