Chapter 1842:

“You'll see soon enough. | won't settle for anything less than perfection,” Jayden teased, his tone brimming with

promise.

Elyse sat bewildered, unsure of what grand plan he was hatching. Yet, since he had asked for her patience, she

resolved to trust him and wait.

A week later, Jennie and Tracy swept Elyse away in a flurry of excitement. As the car hummed along, Elyse

couldn't help but ask, “Where on earth are you whiskingoff to?”

Tracy and Jennie exchanged a conspiratorial grin before chiming, “Oh, just a little outing to unwind, naturally.”

Elyse smirked, unconvinced. “I can unwind perfectly well at home.”

“No chance! You must join us for a shopping spree. It's a golden opportunity to venture out and explore the

stores together. We've got a treasure trove of goodies to snatch up!” Tracy glowed with excitement, pulling Elyse

into a warm embrace.

Elyse laughed, warming to the idea. “I hear Shaun's leg is on the mend—he is already up and about.”

Tracy nodded, her enthusiasm dimming slightly. “Yes, he is getting there, though he can’t stand or walk for long

without a twinge. Full recovery is still a ways off.”

“He is making splendid progress,” Elyse reassured. “Twill stitch him back together.”

Tracy puffed out her cheeks in a pout. “We're out to enjoy ourselves at last—let’s not dwell on him. Mentioning

him just makesantsy.”

Elyse couldn't stifle her amusement. Realizing how little she had let loose lately, she surrendered to the day,

reveling in the spree of jewelry and dresses with Tracy and Jennie.

As dusk crept in, they ushered Elyse to a makeup studio, and a flicker of suspicion sparked in her mind.

“Weren't we headed to a restaurant?” she questioned. “What's a makeup stugot to do with it?”

Jennie cooed with a mischievous lilt, “You've slipped into such a stunning dress—it'd be a crnot to doll up

your face to match before we dine.”

Elyse hesitated, brushing off the fuss. “It’s hardly essential. | wouldn't even be in this dress if you two hadn't

twisted my arm.”

Jennie pressed, unrelenting. “It’s all about the occasion’s magic—we can’t skip a single step.”

Utterly flummoxed but pinned by their insistence, Elyse found herself perched in the stylist’s chair, unable to

escape.

Once her transformation was complete and they steered her toward the restaurant, a nagging feeling tugged at

her senses.

“This is odd,” she mused aloud. “Why is the restaurant so deserted?”

Tracy waved it off casually. “It’s not deserted—look, the staff's bustling about.”

“I mean customers,” Elyse countered, her instincts humming. “Are you two keeping something under wraps?”

Jennie and Tracy chimed in unison, “Not a bit! Let's dash in and eat—we’re famished.”

With that, they guided Elyse toward a private dining suite.

Pausing at the threshold, Elyse frowned. “Aren't you starving? Why aren’t you going in?”
