Chapter 1719:

“Faye’s driving Lucas home,” Vincent said.

“That's really the case, huh?” Johnson's voice crackled through the phone, laced with a touch of sarcasm.

After a short pause, he asked, “So, what did you pick up from the conversation earlier?”

Vincent's face grew serious as he answered, “It’s still uncertain whether Faye was the one who pushed Belinda

down the mountain that day. But her reaction when she heard about what happened between Belinda and Lucas

before? Something's definitely not right. | can’t say for sure she’s in love with Lucas, but her feelings for him

clearly go beyond family ties.”

He let out a heavy sigh, his frustration evident. “Who would have guessed Faye was harboring such

inappropriate feelings for Lucas?”

“Yeah,” Johnson replied, his tone heavy with resignation. “When Belinda and Bethany first raised their suspicions,

| didn’t buy them. | even tried to defend Faye. But after tonight... I'm starting to have doubts as well.”

Vincent said, “Do you think Faye isn’t right, that she’s fallen in love with her uncle, or does she know something

odd about her identity?”

Johnson's eyes narrowed slightly at that. “That hinges on whether Lucas and Faye are actually related by blood.

If they aren't truly related, it could mean Faye has known this for a while, which might explain why she thinks

she could be with Lucas. Maybe that’s why she would go so far as to hurt Belinda—she might think that without

Belinda around, she and Lucas could be together.”

Vincent felt a shiver crawl up his spine at Johnson's words.

The three of them, along with Faye, had grown up as a tight-knit group. So, Vincent and Johnson were reluctant

to think so ill of Faye, but the mounting evidence was hard to ignore.

Vincent sighed deeply. “Let’s drop it for now. No use overthinking it. We'll see what Lucas uncovers.”

“Alright,” Johnson agreed.

During the drive, Faye kept the car moving steadily.

What should have been a one-hour trip dragged on for nearly two before she finally pulled up in front of

Belinda’s place.

She cut the engine and glanced over at Lucas in the passenger seat.

He hadn't woken up once during the ride, though his restless shifting showed his discomfort.

Faye's gaze lingered on him; she couldn't tear her eyes away.
